What is this about?
The News Monitor takes the ongoing monitoring of websites and topics off your hands. To do this, you create search agents. Each search agent checks a website or searches the web for your search term. An AI rates the content found. For a match, you get a summary and a story idea, and the match automatically lands in the Inbox as an idea.
Prerequisites
| Plan | Search agents | Runs per day |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 1 | 1 |
| Pro | 10 | 5 |
| Agentic | unlimited | unlimited |
| Enterprise / Agency | unlimited | unlimited |
Each run also uses credits. You find the plan prices on the Pricing page.
Step by step
- Open the News Monitor. In the sidebar, go to Workflows → News Monitor. At the top right you switch between the Results and Search agents views.
- Create a search agent. In the Search agents view, click New search agent.
- Enter basic data. Enter a Name, the Website URL and the Search term. You connect several terms with OR. Under Additional instruction (optional) you narrow it down further, for example “Only positions in Vienna, no internships”.
- Shape the result (optional). Under How the result should look, describe which details should appear per finding. Whether something is a match is still decided by the search term.
- Choose discovery strategy and schedule. Choose the Discovery strategy (see below), the Max. pages per run and the Schedule: Hourly, Daily or Weekly. Enable Activate monitoring for automatic runs.
- Save and test. Click Save & Test or, later, Test now in the agent list. The test run shows a live log. With Test with last run you try out a changed result instruction without reloading the pages.
- Process matches. In Results, the tiles Matches, Unread and Errors show the respective count. Clicking a tile filters the list; further options are under Filter. Open a match and click Create story from this idea, or continue working on the idea in the Inbox.

Discovery strategies
- Crawl website: starts at the homepage and follows internal links, up to three levels deep.
- Find relevant subpages (map): finds in one step the subpages of the domain that best match the search query.
- Web & news search: searches the web and news on the topic, also beyond the given website. You choose the Recency (last 24 hours, week, month or any time) and can include or exclude domains.
- Always-on monitoring: checks the website for changes at a fixed interval of every 6 hours. A separate schedule is not needed.
With Max. pages per run (1 to 100) and the path filters you control how much is read per run.
Status of a run
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Pending / Running... | The run is waiting or in progress. |
| Match | The search term was found. |
| No Match | There was new content, but no match. |
| No Changes | Nothing has changed since the last run. |
| Failed / Error | The page was unreachable or blocked access. |
Automatic stories
With Create stories automatically, the search agent automatically creates a story for every match. You choose at least one channel for this.
Limits
- Daily limit: When your plan’s daily limit is reached, ALLMEDIA.AI pauses all active search agents of the workspace. You get a notification once per day.
- Credits: If the balance isn’t sufficient, the search agent is paused.
- Number: If you have reached the maximum number of search agents, you can only create a new one after an upgrade or after deleting an agent.
Tips
- Create a separate search agent per source to keep the results clearly separated.
- If there are too many matches, narrow the search term or use the Additional instruction.
- If an agent shows Error, check the address and test again. Some pages block automated access.
- With Mark all read you mark all results as read at once.
