A channel connection is the technical access to a platform such as LinkedIn, WordPress or Mailchimp. You create it under Plan → Publishing with Connect channel, sign in to the platform or enter credentials, and assign it to a channel.
This page was translated from the German original. The labels in your app are authoritative.

What is this about?
A channel connection stores the access to a platform. ALLMEDIA.AI uses it to publish posts and, where the platform supports it, to fetch statistics. A channel without a channel connection can create posts, but not publish them.
You create channel connections once in the workspace and assign them to channels. A channel can have several connections. You can create several connections of one connection type, for example for different accounts.
Connection types
The ALLMEDIA team decides which connection types you see in your workspace. Some types appear with the notice “Coming soon” and cannot be selected yet. The app provides these groups:
| Group | Connection types | How to connect |
|---|---|---|
| Social media | LinkedIn, X (Twitter), Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, Pinterest, Threads, Reddit, Telegram, Google Business | Sign in to the platform; then, if needed, choose the destination, e.g. company page, Facebook page, board, subreddit or location |
| Website and CMS | WordPress, TYPO3, Joomla (4 and 5), Wix Blog, Confluence, SharePoint | Website credentials, e.g. username and application password for WordPress or an API token for Joomla and Confluence; for TYPO3 you install the ALLMEDIA extension |
| Newsletter and email | Mailchimp, ConvertKit / Kit, Rapidmail, HubSpot, Send Post via Email | API key or access token of the service; for “Send Post via Email” only the recipient address |
| Your own systems | Webhook | URL of your service, optionally with an API key (Set up a publishing connection) |
| No platform | Publish Manually | No sign-in; you publish the post yourself |
ALLMEDIA.AI connects social media accounts via the integrated publishing service Zernio. If a platform is missing, use Request integration in the selection dialog.
Step by step
- Open channel connections. Click Plan → Publishing in the sidebar. In the settings you find the same page under Publishing → Channel connections.
- Add a connection. Click Connect channel. In the dialog “Select connector type” you search for the platform and select it. Alternatively, use Start setup assistant in the ⋯ menu next to the button to go through platform by platform.
- Set up access. For social media platforms you click Connect account, sign in to the platform and confirm the permissions. For CMS and newsletter services you enter the credentials and check them with Test connection, if the connection type offers this. Credentials are stored encrypted.
- Choose destination and options. Choose the destination, such as the company page, board, list or category, and set default values, such as the publishing status for WordPress. Save the connection.
- Assign to a channel. Open the channel under Content → Channels, switch to Workflow in the channel canvas and select the channel connection in the Publishing („Veröffentlichung“) tile. When creating a channel, you can also do this in the Publishing step.
- Keep an eye on the status. The dot on each card shows the state. In the connection’s dialog you see statuses such as “Connected”, “Expires soon”, “Expired”, “Connection error” or “Connection untested”, and under Linked channels which channels use it.

Limits
- Number per plan: Free 1, Pro 6, Agentic 15 channel connections. For Enterprise and Agency, the agreement applies (Pricing). You can book additional channel connections for €5 per month per connection.
- What counts: Every channel connection occupies a slot, even if it is deactivated or not assigned to a channel. Only deleting frees the slot. “Publish Manually” never counts.
- Limit exceeded: If you have more connections than allowed, the most recently added ones cannot publish. They carry the label “Over limit”.
- Quota across workspaces: The quota applies to all workspaces you own. The ⋯ menu at the top of the page shows the counter and usage by workspace.
Tips
- Before signing in, log in to the right platform account in your browser. Otherwise the connection is attached to the wrong profile.
- For company pages you need a role on the platform that allows publishing.
- The platform sign-in only works in the browser, not in the version installed as an app.
- If a connection is interrupted, reconnect it instead of deleting it: Disconnect and reconnect a channel connection.
