    Delete or leave a workspace

As the owner, you permanently delete workspaces you no longer need. As a member, you leave a workspace. There is no archiving.

    Afterwards you have:

Only the owner can delete a workspace, immediately and irreversibly, under Settings → Workspace → General. Members can leave a workspace at any time. There is no archive function for workspaces.

    What is this about?

You can remove workspaces from completed projects or tests. There are two ways to do this:

    • Delete: The owner deletes the workspace with all its content. This happens immediately and cannot be undone.
    • Leave: A member removes themselves from a workspace. The workspace and its content remain.

ALLMEDIA.AI does not offer archiving or pausing of workspaces.

    Prerequisites

    • Only the workspace owner can delete it.
    • You cannot delete your private workspace.

    Step by step

    1. Back up content. Export beforehand what you want to keep. You export posts under Analyze → Reports as a PDF report, Excel (XLSX) or CSV. If you have booked the backup add-on, you create a backup of the workspace via the profile menu under Backups.
    2. Open general settings. Select the workspace in the workspace switcher and go to Settings → Workspace → General. The Danger Zone is at the very bottom.
    3. Start deleting. Click Delete Workspace. The dialog shows what will be lost: all projects, all posts and content, all media, and all members lose access.
    4. Confirm permanently. Click Delete Permanently. The workspace disappears immediately and you land in another workspace.

    Leaving a workspace

If you are a member but not the owner, open the workspace switcher and choose Leave workspace. Alternatively, you can do this in the member list under Settings → Workspace → Team. Afterwards you no longer have access to the content. The owner can invite you again at any time.

As the owner, you cannot leave a workspace. First transfer ownership to another member (see Workspace roles) or delete the workspace.

    Limits

    • There is no recovery period for deleted workspaces. Once it’s gone, it’s gone.
    • If you only want to remove people’s access, remove them from the member list instead of deleting the workspace.
    • Deleting a workspace is different from deleting your account. For the account, a 30-day scheduled deletion period applies (see Data privacy and GDPR).

    Frequently asked questions

I don’t see the Danger Zone. Why?

It only appears for the owner and not in the private workspace. Check in the workspace switcher who owns the workspace.

Can a deleted workspace be restored?

No. The app deletes the workspace immediately and without a trash bin. So back up all content you need beforehand.
