Channel connection quota for workspaces

What is this about?

In ALLMEDIA.AI we distinguish between channels and channel connections. A channel is your editorial unit with brand voice, content structure and target audience. You can create unlimited channels. A channel connection is the technical access to a platform through which content is published, for example your LinkedIn profile or your WordPress blog. Only channel connections are limited by your plan.

The quota applies to you as the owner, not to a single workspace. All channel connections in workspaces you own count together. If you are only a member of someone else’s workspace, the owner’s quota applies there.

Step by step

1. Open channel connections. Go to Settings → Channel connections or, in the sidebar, to Plan → Publishing. In the ⋯ menu next to Connect channel you see the counter Channel connections with used / limit.
2. Check usage by workspace. If you have several workspaces of your own, the same menu shows under Usage by workspace which connections are in which workspace.
3. Extend the quota. When the limit is reached, click Buy +1 channel connection (€5/month) or Upgrade plan. One license adds exactly one channel connection and can be cancelled monthly.
4. Remove connections you don’t need. Delete connections you no longer need. Only then is a slot freed up. Deactivating alone is not enough.

How the count works

• Deactivated connections also occupy a slot. This way, the limit cannot be bypassed by switching connections off and on.
• Connections without a channel count too. In the breakdown they are marked no channel.
• Manual publishing doesn’t count. The connection for manual publishing does not occupy a slot.
• The oldest connections take priority. If you are over the limit, the most recently added connections can no longer publish. They are marked Over limit, and the app shows the banner Channel connection limit exceeded.

This can happen, for example, after a plan downgrade. Posts on such connections fail with the notice that the channel connection quota has been reached.

Limits

• There is no way to distribute or reserve slots for individual workspaces. All your own workspaces share the quota.
• You can also create content without a channel connection. The limit only applies when publishing.

Tips

• Before changing your plan, check how many connections you occupy. This prevents connections from ending up over the limit.
• In your account you can switch the Channel limit reached email on or off (see Configure notifications).

Frequently asked questions

Do channel connections in workspaces where I’m only a member count?

No. They count towards the quota of the respective workspace owner.

Why does the counter show more connections than I actively use?

Because deactivated connections, connections without a channel and connections in your other workspaces also occupy a slot. If you are over the limit, the breakdown Why … connections are counted shows each one.
